Description of Bank
This is a cast iron pig standing on a pedestal that says “Thrifty.” The pig is holding a sign with a poem that reads “ The Wise Pig, Save A Penny Yesterday, Another Save Today, Tomorrow Save Another, To Keep the Wolf Away.” There is a coin slot in the back of his head and a flathead screw in his back, but no hole on the bottom to take money out of the bank. There is no visible maker’s mark.
Approx. 6.5” H, 3” W
One online seller said that the “Original bank from the 30’s has the JMR initials (on the back of the base), only original banks have the initials, any bank without the initial was made in the 1970’s.”

History of Manufacturer
“The Hubley Manufacturing Company was founded in 1894 by John E. Hubley in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Initially, the company made accessories and equipment for electric trains, but financial difficulties in 1909 forced Hubley to sell his entire train-related stock. The company then transitioned into producing cast iron toys, which became their primary focus.” (Google Search Results)

Have Information?
I believe the Thrifty the Wise Pig in my collection is a reproduction, dating to the 1970s. Is there anything I missed? If you are in the know, comments and e-mails are welcome!
