Lefton
Description: White piggy bank with flowers painted on the top of the head and each side.
Notes: There are three stickers on the bottom of the bank. The first says Lefton China Hand Painted. The second says 1986 Geo. Z Lefton 03396. The third is a foil sticker that says Lefton China Trade Mark Exclusives Korea. There is an oblong white rubber stopper on the bottom.

History: The website AmericanAntiquities.com says that George Zoltan Lefton, also referred to as Geo. Z Lefton among other names, arrived in the United States from Hungary in 1939. Lefton had made his living in Hungary in sportswear but his passion for fine porcelain turned from a hobby into a business when he founded the Lefton Company in 1941 in Chicago. Notes: Faded foil sticker on bottom but can make out Lefton and part of the word Japan. The number 2936 is stamped on the bottom. Missing stopper for oblong outlet on the bottom.
